Photo “Torre Rejas” or “Rejas Tower” is part of the photography series “Towers of the Orchard”
ABOUT
Torre Rejas or Grille Tower was first mentioned in a deed from 1624. The name comes from the large grilles on the windows of the house attached to it. There were various owners of the tower, before 1952, when it’s owner – the architect D. Miguel Lopez Gonzalez provided reforms in the tower and house changing them from agricultural to residential buildings.
The tower has a rectangular shape with a slope in the lowest part. Ashlars are built in the corners and load-bearing walls. There are basement, three levels and an upper terrace.
