Photo “Torre Santiago” or “Tower Santiago” is part of the photography series “The Towers of the Orchard”
ABOUT
Until 1989, Torre Santiago was almost distrusted and just four small columns remained. Pedro Guilllena Gomez, retired hotel director and fan of painting and architecture, decided to alter the noise and bustle big city environment with a calm area of San Joan. Initially, he wanted to build just a studio there, but afterward, he rebuilt the house and tower to reside in.
In April 1997 the tower had been proclaimed as a Site of Cultural Interest. It currently comprises of a ground floor and three other floors. There is a blinded tunnel in the basement leading to the neighboring Torre Sarrio.
