Description
‘Photo Blue Caves’ takes us to the historic Skinari area of Zakynthos, to a site first discovered in 1897 by Antonio Komouto. Shooting from a boat allowed me to get close enough to witness the incredible way the sea and sky bleed into one another within these limestone arches. My goal was to frame the chromatic resonance of the water—that impossible blue that seems to glow from within—and contrast it against the rugged, porous textures of the caves and the vibrant green bushes clinging to the rocks.
This work centers on aqueous transparency. It captures the exact moment where the light isolates the luminous refraction within the cave system, creating a sense of spectral beauty. The treatment emphasizes the analytical sharpness of the limestone and the crystal-clear water, turning a historic Greek landmark into a monumental horizontal study of light and liquid.
Media:Museum-gradeAluminium Dibond.
The Matte Finish Advantage: To preserve the chromatic intensity of the Ionian blue and the delicate textures of the sea spray, this work is produced on Aluminium Dibond with a Premium Matte Finish. This ensures that the deep shadows within the caves and the brilliant highlights of the turquoise water remain saturated and sharp, avoiding any distracting glare from your interior lighting.
